Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Produce Team Leader to join our team at Whole Foods Market -
Jacksonville. As a key member of our produce department, you will
be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of
daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying,
merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.
Your leadership skills will be instrumental in developing and
maintaining a positive and productive team environment, ensuring
excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.Key
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Develop and maintain a
high-performing team by recruiting, training, and mentoring team
members.
- Operational Excellence: Assist the Team Leader in achieving
sales, purchasing, and labor targets while maintaining a focus on
profitability and expense control.
- Merchandising and Presentation: Develop and maintain creative
store layouts and product displays to maximize visual appeal and
drive sales.
- Product Knowledge and Awareness: Demonstrate advanced product
knowledge and stay up-to-date on new products, vendors, and
industry trends.
- Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships
with vendors to ensure seamless ordering and receiving
processes.
- Customer Service: Foster a positive and welcoming environment
for customers, responding promptly to their needs and
concerns.
- Reporting and Analysis: Assist the Team Leader in analyzing
sales reports, labor data, and other key performance indicators to
inform business decisions.Requirements and Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: 6+ months of supervisory experience in a
retail environment.
- Product Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of produce products,
vendors, and industry trends.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent
communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient mathematical skills for
assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and
managing inventory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and
operations-related applications.Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8
hours, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Environmental Factors: Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning
chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and a wet and
cold environment.
