Job Description:
Data Warehouse Analyst is needed in the Enterprise Information
Management group to perform data integration (ETL -
Extract-Transform-Load) activities. This resource will work on the
Clearinghouse to CDW Data Integration project and the CAIS V2 to V3
and Generic Assignment Module project for CDW.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for design, construction and
implementation of ETL (Extract, Transformation and Load) processes
for the Data Warehouse solution at. The ETL Developer will work
closely with the Lead Data Warehouse Analyst and use their
knowledge of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence from
gathering requirements through implementing solutions for
retrieving, loading, combining and summarizing data from multiples
systems into the Data Warehouse. This is a technical development
role, heavily involved in technical design, development, unit and
system testing activities relating to Data Warehouse data load
utilities and processes.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes source system data to understand the data structure,
definitions and anomalies.
Interacts with customers as needed to better define and understand
the general reporting requirements.
Interacts with other technical team members to establish ETL
requirements and designs.
Designs, develops and implements ETL processes and procedures for
an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution.
Ability to program in SQL to perform the data query, extract,
transformation and load functions.
Documents ETL designs in a clear and concise manner.
Participates in the testing and implementation of new or enhanced
ETL processes and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Relational, Star Schema and Dimensional database
modeling techniques.
Knowledge of Demoralized and Reporting table database modeling
techniques.
Strong ETL Design and Development skills.
Strong SQL query, SQL DML (Data Manipulation Language) and
relational database design skills.
Ability to clearly and concisely document all ETL and SQL processes
and Job and Scheduling information.
Ability to read, interpret and develop Data Flow Diagrams.
Required Education:
Minimum two years experience in large data warehouse projects from
design through production support strongly desired.
Minimum five years of SQL Development and two years of which are in
Data Warehouse ETL development experience.
Minimum two years experience with SQL Server 2000 or 2005 RDBMS,
required.
Minimum two years experience with SQL Server DTS or SSIS ETL tools,
required.
Property & Casualty insurance experience is strongly desired.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook,
required.
