Senior IMS Database Administrator

Job Description:

A company is looking for a Senior IMS Database Administrator to create, maintain, and troubleshoot client databases.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mainframe database software upgrades and administration to support IMS environments
Manage day-to-day database maintenance, including backups, restores, and monitoring file growth
Conduct database optimizations and provide support for disaster recovery procedures

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
10+ years of professional experience in IMS administration and systems programming support
Extensive knowledge of IMS database organization and management
Experience with database design utilities and reorganization processes
Familiarity with database monitoring and performance issue resolution
