Job Description:
Are you a dependable and caring Social Work professional,
(ideally) with hands-on experience in Medicaid casework and
application processes seeking a meaningful and supportive work
environment? Our established and growing team at Coastal Legacy Law
has an opportunity for a resourceful individual to transition their
skills and strengths to the role of Client Relations & Elder Law
Case Coordinator for our Estate Planning law firm.
We understand the dedication and effort involved in social work and
are seeking someone who values a team and work environment that
actually cares both for the clients and for each other. If you are
someone who takes pride in thoroughness and is looking for a role
where you can directly contribute to individuals and families in
our community, we encourage you to consider this position.
While no prior legal background is required, a conscientious
approach to learning new information and mastering detailed
processes is essential. You should also be comfortable utilizing
technology and have the ability to learn new software systems
effectively and independently, ensuring accurate record-keeping and
efficient task management.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your empathy and
organizational skills to guide our estate planning and elder law
clients through important planning steps. Your ability to
understand their needs and provide clear, step-by-step explanations
will be highly valued. We are a team that believes in supporting
one another, and we are looking for a reliable and dedicated
individual who finds fulfillment in helping others navigate complex
situations with care and precision.
This role does require travel primarily within Volusia County,
specifically between our offices in DeLand and New Smyrna Beach.
This is a hybrid role, so there is the opportunity to work from
home when there are no client appointments in the office if you
desire. We work with our team members to provide a balance, as much
as possible, between working from home and working from the office.
Most team members go into the office 3 days a week on average.
Visiting nursing homes, rehab centers, hospitals, etc., is part of
this role. Reliable transportation is required. This role also
includes about two to four evenings a month to assist with our
workshops throughout Volusia County.
Work-life balance is a priority for our firm. We are open 9-5, but
are often flexible with work schedules. Our firm closes for almost
all major holidays with extended time in Thanksgiving and Christmas
through New Year's, paid. We offer generous and flexible PTO as
well as 401k Matching opportunities after 1 year. We currently do
not provide health care, but we offer a healthcare stipend and are
hoping to offer health care benefits in the future.
We prioritize our team members, fostering a culture of mutual
support and collaboration where everyone goes the extra mile for
one another. If you value teamwork and are looking for a workplace
that truly cares for its employees, we encourage you to apply and
visit our website to learn more about us.
To Apply:
Please submit your resume and answer all questions provided through
this application process. Your resume must be able to highlight
transitional skills. After submitting your application, you will
then receive an email. Please reply and include a thoughtful cover
letter (in PDF format) that is uniquely your own and reflects your
individual experiences and aspirations, especially if you do not
have the necessary background experience. We are not interested in
a generic overview, instead, we are particularly interested in
understanding the motivations behind your career transition. Please
elaborate on:
--- What specific aspects of your current or previous work
experience have sparked your interest in the field of estate
planning and elder law?
--- Beyond the job description, what personal values or
professional goals are driving your desire to transition into this
legal support role focused on client relations?
--- Considering your social work background and possible experience
with Medicaid applications, how do you envision applying these
skills within the context of assisting clients with estate planning
and, in the future, primarily Elder Law Care?
--- If you do not have either a background in Social Work or
experience with the Medicaid application process, share how your
skills will transfer and apply to this role.
We are looking for thoughtful and specific responses that
demonstrate a genuine interest in this unique opportunity and a
clear understanding of how your background aligns with our firm's
values and the evolving needs of this role. Note: If we do not
receive a cover letter explaining the items listed here, your
application will not proceed.
We value your unique experience and look forward to hearing from
you.

--- Elder Law Strategy Meetings: Guide clients through available
elder law strategies*, ensuring they understand their options and

Please note that as we continue to expand our Elder Law practice,
this role will transition further into Elder Law-specific
responsibilities, such as facility and hospital visits/check-ins vs
